Sondra's Graduation [Photos]

Here are some photos from Sondra's Graduation! I'm so proud of her.

Yesterday Sondra had a job offer at MedCentral Mansfield. We are praying to see, if this is where she feels she should be right now.

Vic and Cassie's Wedding!

I'm proud to present Mr. and Mrs. Victor Swisher!

Last Saturday I had the privilege to conduct the wedding ceremony for one of my best friends, Vic Swisher, and my cousin, Cassie Smith.

We had a great time at the reception, I only wished I would of danced with my smokin' hot wife more.

Some Cool Fire Fox Add On's // Part 5

Open It

Open IT Online allows you to open your documents and images online without the need of any software to be installed.

Open IT Online is easy to setup and allows to choose, among different online services, which one you want to use for each type of file supported.

Every time you will get the "Open with..." dialog within Firefox (i.e., after a click on a link to a document/spreadsheet/presentation), you will see the size of the file you are going to open and you will have the possibility to choose which online service to use.

What's Underneath?

I am generally a grace filled person because I have experienced tremendous grace in my own life.

Often I have conversations with people who ask me, "How do you care for those who are so negative and abrasive?"

I try to explain to them that what the person presents on the outside is a reaction to what is going on in the inside.

The making of this music video by Alanis Morissette explains it very well.

Then I explain that it is not by my own merit that I experience salvation, but it is through the good news of Jesus. Therefore I have no right to approach someone who is without Christ with an ounce of righteousness or I will do damage to the good news I hope to share with them.

God's grace provides a joy that cannot be stopped! Embrace the gospel, share the good news!

Fast Dial

Fast access to your favorite sites through thumbnails, like Opera Speed Dial.

I really like this one, it's fast and easy and completely customizable to the sites I visit the most.

After you install you simply hit the command, "t" shortcut (for mac). and when you open a new tab, all of your sites you loaded into Fast Dial come up in nice neat little boxes.

Discipline of the ArtsRenovo Art

In the May issue of Interview Magizine, Jacob Dylan had this to say about song-writing:
I’ve always had this disciplined approach to it. You have to have a work ethic and you have to be educated in what you’re doing. You have to take it seriously. It doesn’t mean that everything you do has to be serious. But you’ve got to have the tools. There are certainly a lot of people—and I won’t name names—who are getting by simply on expression. And I guess that’s valuable in some sense. But songs are not better just because they’re emotionally honest. To write a song well, you have to put some work into it and grind it out.

Video Download helper

The easy way to download Web videos from hundreds of YouTube-like sites. This works also for audio and picture galleries.

You Tube is great but there are some video clips that I want to add to my personal collection. Video Download Helper makes it really easy.

You pick the site, press play on the the video, go up and click on the Video Download Helper icon that rest in the top of the broswer bar.

Glubble

Glubble Family Edition is a free parental control suite for Firefox. I just installed this for my kids who are getting old enough to surf the net by themselves.

They start on a homepage with pre arranged sites that they can visit, and then you have the option to add other sites to the "Family Glubble".

The best idea here is that if one of your kids tries to access a site that is not approved, a pop up window comes up, and before they can view the site they have to email you and gain access.

This comes in handy with a 7 year old that knows how to spell!

Some Cool Fire Fox Add On's // Part 1

I'm a big fan of Fire Fox, I've been using it since version 1. They are on the cutting edge of what a web browser can do. They had multiple tabs, and folders in your bookmark bar way before any else.

And they are aggressive about improving their product. Just check out some of the add- ons you can download and install to customize your web experience.

One of my recent add-ons is PicLens

PicLens

Full-Screen, 3D -- PicLens transforms your browser into a visually stunning experience for enjoying online photos and videos.

This is a great add on for designers who are constantly using google image search or flickr looking for inspiration. PicLens also supports YouTube, so think floating video wall!

Happy Father's Day!

Failure Defines the Succesful

Take a minute and think about this...

The most successful, brilliant, and respected people experience the most failure.
Don't believe me?

SPORTS
Micheal Jordan failed to make his High School basketball team. We all know how he turned out.

SCIENCE
Einstein was considered 'slow' in math and science by his elementary school teacher.

BUSINESS
Thousand of Tech-nerds fail over and over again before getting their product to work.

MINISTRY
Moody was described as a simpleton by the local paper yet he reached and taught thousands.

All I can say is... failure is the definitive trait of the successful. Don't be afraid to fail. Be afraid to play it safe.

The Premise...

of our church/pastor conference is to inspire and equip pastors in smaller towns and cities to make an impact in their community for the kingdom of God.
We experienced, first hand, that the size of your town isn’t the limiting factor on what you can do to reach people for the cause of Christ.

The creators and speakers of this conference have seen God reach thousands through their local church. This growth has occurred in towns as small as 400 people to small cities as large as 30K.
This conference is for 'the small town' pastor to make a 'big impact' in his community. Stay tuned, I will roll out some more details over the next few weeks.

If you have questions about the conference leave them in the comments.

Conference talk with Ben

On Tuesday I got to speak with Ben Arment. Ben is a church planter, creator of the White Board Sessions, and now Catalyst employee.

Ben created White Board around this premise: 1 Day, 8 Influential
Leaders, 30 Minutes. He took a few minutes out of his busy schedule to help me with a project I'm working on. He shared with me how to create, promote, and market a church conference and I greatly appreciated his time, wisdom and suggestions.

One thing that everyone needs to know about Ben is that he has a very soothing and therapeutic voice.* Seriously! It should be on the radio or at least one of those CDs you receive at your hotel to help you to get to sleep. And no, he is not boring, just smooth.

Any how, if you haven't guessed it, I will be helping create a church conference that will happen in the fall. Next week I'll roll out the premise of our church conference. It's going to be SU-wheat!

Grace and peace.
*disclaimer - I don't have a man crush.

Sick | News

SICK
Sorry for the lack of blogging. I've been sick since last week and I'm finally coming out of it. The sun-burn was insanely bad too. Now I'm starting to peel like a lizard or serpent of sorts. YUCK!

NEWS
Last Sunday I had the opportunity to lead worship at New Hope - Wooster. I'm very excited to say that I'm getting to roll a project that I will be working on with NH and some other churches.

Stay tuned!

SHE'S STANDING!
