About me

Can't thank the Lord enough for the fact that my parents chose Australia as their land of opporunity when they had to migrate here as displaced persons from Europe after WW2!

Technically I'm an middle-aged Baby Boomer with a Gen X daughter, a cusp Gen X/Gen Y son and two Gen Y step-sons, so life is full considering both I and my husband, the Activist Andrew (also profiled on Shapevine), and I work full time, are studying for our Master of Arts-Community Development (MACD), and are enthusiastic about a range of incarnational missional people and projects.  Some of them include StoneWorks, Forge, and The New Space (our own missional community attempt which seems to morph in shape and size on a continual basis).

Over the past 3 years since retiring from a decade of co-ordinating an international Christian Creative Arts organisation (ICDF - www.icdf.com), we have been occupied by jointly overseeing the ICDF Network for Creative Arts and Social Concern).   Being a dancer, I love music, movement, colour, texture, light, and any situation in which I allow myself to appreciate the creativity and love of God!

A very special part of my life experience has been the agony and ecstasy of working with Australia's own Aboriginal Christian community here in Sydney where the Anglican church was the first official denomination after the British Penal settlement began and where the East Coast indigenous people took the full brunt of the unfortunate ills of colonisation.  Although we have had an official government apology for the trauma and troubles caused, there is still much healing and progress to be experienced, and I feel very very happy and privileged to play a small part in that.  Life in Christ and creativity plays a big part in that small part!

Hopefully my tertiary quals in Creative Arts ministry, Adult Education, Workplace Training and Assessment and my lifetime of living and expressing the Christian faith will be of service for the Kingdom's sake wherever the Lord takes me (and sometimes Andrew and I even turn up together in the same places!)

Shapevine is a fun and inspiring cyber-place to cross-generationally hang out from time to time!  I love making new friends, so drop me an e-line, I'd love to hear from anybody interested in areas I have mentioned, or who are not interested but might share fresh perspectives...
